Brazing technology is an ancient method using fusion to assemble metal parts. For instance, vases and brazed jewelry were found in Orient, dating back to 3000 B.C. Still today, brazing is frequently used by goldsmith and jeweler's craft. Brazing is not solely used in craft based processes or for simple repairs; it is a major industrial process in product manufacturing.
By definition, brazing is a soldering method that uses filler metal with a lower melting point than the metal to be joined. By heating up the filler metal to its melting point, it wets the metal base when it touches it. Then, as it cools, the filler metal solidifies and creates a metallic link between the different parts. During the brazing process, the assembled metal parts do not melt; they are not part of the welded joint.
